In 2005, as a finalist in a national architectural competition, DMA was invited within a joint venture with Lundholm Architects to undertake a project to consolidate the Museum of New Brunswick's various operations into one location in the historic wing of the Museum on Douglas Street in St. John.
The proposed concept placed the exhibition rooms around the original building in a series of plates stages reinforcing the prominence of the historic wing on the peak of hill overlooking the city. Particular attention was paid to the exhibition touring sequence in accordance with museological requirements as described in the programme and a continuous promenade was set along a circulation axis running parallel to the slope of the site and looking north to a spectacular view of Marble Cove.
