The project consisted of renovating, modernizing and converting the former patient care rooms of the D.-Bedard Pavilion for use as a training facility for professionals and students. To highlight the institution's rich history and to inspire the students to continue the work pioneered more than a century ago, photos from the Hospital's archives were inserted into the masonry walls.
Different rooms were designed to superior teaching standards to suit a variety of group sizes and teaching methods: acoustic, audio-visual equipment, observation rooms, and energy efficient systems and controls. The project also allowed for the re-use of an original wing of the building that had been abandoned for many years.
