The expansion project of the Museum of Fine Arts of Montreal consisted of three parts of which two were renovations: the original 1912 structure on the corner of Sherbrooke and MacKay streets and a series of eight Victorian houses on Crescent Street. The third and most important part of the project was the construction of a new pavilion, connected to the others, that included exhibition galleries, workshops and storage facilities, boutiques, a cafeteria and public spaces, such as the Great Hall and the Winter Garden, as well as administrative offices.
